Starting January 1, 1975, and every two years after, the Secretary must send the same report to the President, Congress, and the Advisory Council named in section 1594(a). The report covers the prior fiscal year’s work on Colorado River salinity control—studies, planning, and construction; how well control units are working; future work needed (with focus on the next five years); and any special problems slowing progress. The report can be included in the Secretary’s biennial Colorado River Basin water quality report under sections 620n, 615ww, and 616e.
