Title 43 › Chapter 33— ALASKA NATIVE CLAIMS SETTLEMENT › § 1607
Native residents of each Native village who are to get land or benefits under this law must set up a business corporation under state law before the village can receive those lands or benefits, unless another rule says otherwise. The village’s first incorporation papers must be approved by the Regional Corporation. For five years after that, changes to those papers and the village’s yearly budgets must be reviewed and approved by the Regional Corporation, which will help and advise villages in preparing the needed papers and other documents. Parts (g), (h) (except paragraph (4)), and (o) of section 1606 apply fully to Village Corporations, Urban Corporations, and Group Corporations.
