Title 43 › Chapter 9— DESERT-LAND ENTRIES › § 334
The Secretary of the Interior may give a desert‑land entryman an extra extension of time to make final proof, in addition to any extensions allowed by laws that existed before April 30, 1912 (including section 333). The entryman must file a supported sworn statement at the local land office saying unavoidable delays in building irrigation for the land, through no fault of his, stop him from making proof. Any one extension under this rule can be no more than three years, and the total of all extensions under this and earlier laws before April 30, 1912 cannot exceed six years. This does not change contests already started for a valid reason.
