The Secretary of the Interior may give a school district up to six acres of unclaimed land inside a U.S. Reclamation townsite if the district (all or part of it) is in a Reclamation project, the district applies, and the Secretary agrees the land is needed for school buildings and grounds. If the land stops being used for school purposes, ownership goes back to the United States.
