Title 43 › Chapter 12— RECLAMATION AND IRRIGATION OF LANDS BY FEDERAL GOVERNMENT › Subchapter XVII— LEGISLATION APPLICABLE TO PARTICULAR PROJECTS GENERALLY › § 597a
The United States and its future operators are given permission to use parts of the Wind River (Shoshone) Reservation for a dam site and to flood land so they can build and run Bull Lake Dam and Reservoir on Bull Lake Creek for the Riverton reclamation project to hold about 155,000 acre-feet of water, including a ten-foot freeboard. For the tribal lands used, $6,500 from the dam construction funds must be deposited in the U.S. Treasury for the Shoshone and Arapaho Indians of the Wind River Reservation under section 155 of title 25, and that amount will earn 4 percent interest per year.
