Title 43 › Chapter 14— GRANTS OF DESERT LANDS TO STATES FOR RECLAMATION › § 647
Applies sections 641, 642, and 643 to the desert lands of the former Ute Indian Reservation in Colorado that are not in national forests, as described in the Act approved July 28, 1882. Before any official land title is issued, Colorado must pay $1.25 per acre into the U.S. Treasury, handled under section 3 of the Act of June 15, 1880. No land may be put into any segregated tract if the United States has valuable improvements on it or if it was reserved for Indian schools or farm use.
