Title 43 › Chapter 17— RESERVATION AND SALE OF TOWN SITES ON PUBLIC LANDS › § 737
Trustees with a townsite patent must give an Alaska Native who occupies the land an unrestricted deed if the Secretary finds they can manage their affairs and asked for it. Once the deed is issued, limits on sale, mortgage, and taxes end, but the land may only be used to pay federal debts owed before the deed.
