Title 43 › Chapter 18— SURVEY OF PUBLIC LANDS › § 762
The government will issue certificates for deposits made under section 759. Settlers can use a certificate to partly pay for the land if the survey was paid from that deposit. They can also sign the certificate over to someone else, and the United States will accept it as payment for public land in the same State where the surveys were done or will be entered under that State’s laws.
