Montana may swap school timberlands granted before February 14, 1923, where timber was removed under state law, for privately owned lands of like kind and equal value. Swaps must follow rules the state legislature makes, and the new land keeps the same limits to allow compact holdings and reforest economically, despite the enabling act.
