Title 43 › Chapter 4— DISTRICT LAND OFFICES › § 93
Money shown in a district land office as coming from unknown parties must be sent to the Treasurer of the United States with a list of the amounts and, if possible, the receipt dates. An officer the Secretary of the Interior names must certify that, after investigation, no owner could be found and that the money had been in the unearned-fees and unofficial-moneys accounts for five years or more.
