Title 43 › Chapter 22— RIGHTS-OF-WAY AND OTHER EASEMENTS IN PUBLIC LANDS › § 934
Railroads organized under State or Territorial law, or by Congress (except D.C.), may use public land for tracks if they file a copy of their articles and proof of organization with the Secretary of the Interior. They get 100 feet on each side of the centerline and may take materials from adjacent public land for construction and use up to 20 acres per station, one station per 10 miles.
