Title 43 › Chapter 23— GRANTS OF SWAMP AND OVERFLOWED LANDS › § 990
All swamp and overflowed lands in Missouri that had been picked and reported to the General Land Office and were held back from sale on March 3, 1877 are given to the State, and the State’s title to them is fixed. This applies only to lands that remained vacant and not taken, had no preemption, homestead, or other federal claim on them, and whose claim had not been rejected by the Commissioner of the General Land Office or other proper authority by that date. The Secretary of the Interior must issue patents for those lands.
