Title 44 › Chapter 23— NATIONAL ARCHIVES TRUST FUND BOARD › § 2307
Income from trust funds and money from selling securities or other personal property must be put into the U.S. Treasury in a trust account called the National Archives Trust Fund. Money from that account can be paid out when the Archivist of the United States (or someone they choose) provides a certified voucher for activities the Board approves and that support the National Archives and Records Administration’s work, like preparing and publishing special works and releasing historical photos and sound recordings. The Archivist may sell publications and releases paid for from the trust fund. Sales must be priced to cover cost plus 10 percent. Money from those sales goes into and is spent from the National Archives Trust Fund.
