Title 44 › Chapter 33— DISPOSAL OF RECORDS › § 3303
Agency heads must send the Archivist, under rules made under section 3302, three items. They must send lists of records the agency has turned into photos, microfilm, or digital files that no longer seem worth keeping; lists of other records the agency does not need for its current work and that do not seem to have administrative, legal, research, or other value; and schedules that propose destroying certain kinds of records after set time periods, covering records the agency already has or that it may get later.
