Title 46 › Subtitle IV — Regulation of Ocean Shipping › Part D — Federal Maritime Commission › CHAPTER 461 — FEDERAL MARITIME COMMISSION › § 46105
The Federal Maritime Commission can make rules to carry out its duties and powers. When the President sends the Budget of the United States for fiscal year 2021 and every two years after that, the Commission must send a report to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation of the Senate and the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure of the House. The report must describe progress on every unfinished regulatory proceeding, even if there is no deadline. For each unfinished proceeding the report must give nine things: the popular title, current stage, a short summary, what started the action, any legal or court deadlines, the docket number, the date it began, the date for the next action, and the reason if a previously promised next-action date was missed.
