§1471 Definitions

Summary

Defines three key terms used in this part of the law. The words “9–1–1 services” and “E9–1–1 services” mean what section 942 of this title says they mean. Multi-line telephone system (MLTS) means phone systems made of central control units, handsets, control hardware and software, and related equipment; it covers network and on-site systems (for example, Centrex, VoIP, PBX, Hybrid, and Key Telephone Systems as classified by the Commission under part 68 of title 47, Code of Federal Regulations) and includes systems owned or leased by governments, non-profits, and businesses. Office means the 9–1–1 Implementation Coordination Office created under section 942 of this title.
