Lets TV companies and their trade groups meet and make voluntary rules to reduce violent content in programs without being treated as violators of federal competition laws. antitrust laws — federal rules against unfair business practices, including section 45 of Title 15 when it covers unfair competition. person in the television industry — networks, anyone who makes or airs TV programming (including movies shown on TV), major TV and cable trade groups, and people acting for them. telecast — broadcast by a TV station or transmission by cable or satellite. This protection does not cover actions that lead to a boycott. It only applies for the three-year period starting December 1, 1990.
