It is illegal to rig radio contests or to make winners ahead of time. You must not give a contestant secret help, bribe or threaten someone so they don’t use their skill, run any scheme to fix the result, make or air a show if you know fixing will happen, or join with others to do any of these things. Contest — any radio contest that offers money or other prizes announced on the air. Listening or viewing public — people who use radios to hear or watch programs. Breaking this rule can bring a fine up to $10,000, up to one year in jail, or both.
