Title 48 › Chapter 7— VIRGIN ISLANDS › Subchapter IV— PUBLIC HOUSING › § 1408c
The Secretary of Housing and Urban Development may let the Virgin Islands housing authority receive and count as local grant money the kinds of local aid that would be approved for slum clearance, urban redevelopment, or urban renewal when those projects get federal help under Title I of the Housing Act of 1949. The Secretary may also let the authority receive and count other federal grants or aid from any department or agency under other laws, so long as those grants would be approvable for the same projects if they came from a state or local community. This is allowed even if other parts of Title I would normally limit such credits.
