Title 48 › Chapter 17— NORTHERN MARIANA ISLANDS › Subchapter III— MISCELLANEOUS › § 1845
The Secretary of the Army, through the Chief of Engineers and working with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, must study and prepare plans to develop, use, and protect the islands’ water and nearby land. Money may be provided for this starting October 1, 1983, in whatever amounts are needed. The study must look at things like flood protection and use of floodplain land, navigation, hydroelectric power, regional water and wastewater systems, recreation, water quality, and fish and wildlife, and the plans must fit local and federal comprehensive development plans.
