Title 48 › Chapter 3— HAWAII › § 208
Within 180 days after the Act became law on November 2, 1995, the Chairman must send a report to the Secretary about any claims that involve transfers of lands listed as "available lands" under section 203 of the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act as it was on July 9, 1921, and that are not already handled under this title. Within 180 days after getting that report, the Secretary must decide for each claim whether, for legal and fair reasons, the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands should get compensation. If the Secretary says yes, the Secretary must figure the value of the land and any lost use using the process in section 203(a), and add that value to the amounts found under subparagraphs (A) and (B) of section 203(a)(1).
