Gives the Department of Transportation Inspector General the power to review the National Transportation Safety Board’s money matters, property handling, and business operations, including internal accounting and administrative controls, to see if they follow federal laws, rules, and regulations. The Inspector General must keep the NTSB Chairman and Congress fully and quickly informed about problems, issue findings and recommendations to fix them, and report to Congress from time to time on progress. The Inspector General may use the authorities in subsections (a) and (c) of section 406 of title 5. Congress may provide money to the Secretary of Transportation for these activities. If no money is provided, the Inspector General and the Board must have a reimbursable agreement to cover the cost.
