The Comptroller General must evaluate and audit the National Transportation Safety Board’s programs, operations, and spending when the Comptroller General or the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation or the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure asks. The reviews must cover seven areas, including information and privacy protection; resource, workforce, buying, and contracting management; how accidents are chosen for investigation; use of best management practices; and how management problems are handled during investigations.
