You can file a written objection to keeping public a record filed under this law or a record the Department of Transportation, State Department, or Postal Service got under it. The objection must say why. Those agencies must keep the information secret if releasing it would hurt the U.S. in international talks or damage an airline’s foreign competitive position. A congressional committee that is allowed the information must still get access.
