§44814 Assured Safe Credentialing Authority

Summary

Within 6 months after the date of enactment, the FAA Administrator must set up a credentialing authority for the FAA program called ASSUREd Safe under the Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems. ASSUREd Safe must provide services across the United States and to U.S. allies and partners. It will offer online and in-person standards, training, and testing for first responders using drones in emergencies and disasters; create uniform communications, operations, and reporting standards for civilian, military, and international partners; and develop any other related standards the Administrator finds appropriate. The FAA must ensure the Center of Excellence works with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the Federal Emergency Management Agency when creating ASSUREd Safe and its services.
