If someone on a civil aircraft physically or sexually attacks or threatens to attack a flight or cabin crew member or any other person, or does something that creates an immediate danger to the plane or people on it, the U.S. Government can fine that person up to $35,000. The Secretary can reduce or settle that fine. The government can also take the fine out of any money it owes the person.
