Summary

People or groups that get federal money under this law must keep the records the Secretary of Transportation asks for. The records must show the amount of money received and how it was used, the total project cost, how much came from other sources, and any other papers that help an audit. For 3 years after a project ends, the Secretary of Transportation and the Comptroller General may inspect and audit those records if they think the records relate to the funding.
