Title 50 › Chapter 36— FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE SURVEILLANCE › Subchapter VI— ADDITIONAL PROCEDURES REGARDING CERTAIN PERSONS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES › § 1881h
It is a crime to knowingly and on purpose give, share, publish, or use classified information that contains the contents of certain communications involving a known U.S. person if you give it to someone not allowed to have it, or use it in a way that harms the United States or helps a foreign government to the U.S.'s detriment. A person convicted can be fined under Title 18, jailed for up to 8 years, or both. If the person was a U.S. officer or employee when the act happened, federal courts can hear the case.
