Title 50 › Chapter 13— INSURRECTION › § 215
The Attorney General or the U.S. attorney where the property is located can start a condemnation case, and if they do, all of the recovery goes to the United States. If a private person files a formal complaint with that attorney to start the case, any recovery is split equally between that person and the United States.
