Heads of the listed intelligence organizations must pick a senior official to coordinate that agency’s biotechnology activities as directed by its leader. The agencies covered are the Office of the Director of National Intelligence; the Central Intelligence Agency; the National Security Agency; the Defense Intelligence Agency; the intelligence parts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and the Department of Energy’s Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence. Within 15 days after making the pick, the head must notify the congressional intelligence committees and the Senate and House Appropriations Committees. If the pick is for the FBI, the Senate and House Judiciary Committees must also be notified.
