Title 50 › Chapter 45— MISCELLANEOUS INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY AUTHORITIES › Subchapter II— PERSONNEL AND ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITIES › § 3323
The Director of Central Intelligence may use the award power in section 4503 of title 5 for federal employees and members of the Armed Forces who are detailed or assigned to the Central Intelligence Agency or the Intelligence Community Staff. That power applies to people assigned on or after a date five years before December 9, 1983, and in fiscal year 1987 may be used under section 4503(2) for military members on foreign intelligence duty when the conduct happened. Awards given under section 4503 or this authority can be paid and accepted even if section 5536 of title 5 would otherwise block payment, or if the person died, separated, retired, or was reassigned off foreign intelligence duties.
