The Director of National Intelligence must tell key members of Congress any time they find credible information that a foreign power has, is, or will try to run a covert influence or active measures campaign about the modernization, employment, doctrine, or force posture of the nuclear deterrent or missile defense. The DNI must work with the FBI and other relevant agencies. The notice must say what the United States has done to expose or stop the attempt and go to congressional leaders and relevant committee leaders. "Appropriate congressional committees" means the congressional intelligence committees; the Senate and House Armed Services Committees; and the Senate Foreign Relations and House Foreign Affairs Committees. "Congressional leadership" means the Senate majority and minority leaders, the Speaker of the House, and the House minority leader.
