§3369c Notification of an Active Measures Campaign

Summary

The Director of National Intelligence must tell congressional leaders and the chair and vice chair (or ranking member) of the listed and other relevant committees whenever, working with the FBI director and other agencies, they find credible information that a foreign power has, is, or will try to run a covert influence or active measures campaign about the modernization, employment, doctrine, or force posture of the nuclear deterrent or missile defense. The notice must say what the United States has done to expose or stop the effort. Appropriate congressional committees: the congressional intelligence committees, the Senate and House Armed Services committees, and the Senate Foreign Relations and House Foreign Affairs committees. Congressional leadership: the Senate majority and minority leaders, the Speaker of the House, and the House minority leader.
