Title 50 › Chapter 45— MISCELLANEOUS INTELLIGENCE COMMUNITY AUTHORITIES › Subchapter IV— COLLECTION, ANALYSIS, AND SHARING OF INTELLIGENCE › § 3371b
Requires the Director of National Intelligence to help the DHS Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis (and any DHS official the Secretary names) get security clearances up to the top secret level for each eligible chief election official of a State (States include the 50 States, DC, Puerto Rico, and U.S. territories) and any needed designees when they take office. This help had to start no later than 30 days after December 20, 2019. The Director may also give interim clearances, for a period the Director sets, to a chief election official and up to one designee. The Director must also help the DHS intelligence official and the DHS under secretary who handles critical infrastructure and cybersecurity share appropriate classified information about threats to election systems and election integrity with those cleared officials and designees. The DHS intelligence official must coordinate with those partners to make sure the information reaches the affected Secretaries of State or States.
