§3618 Collection of Service Charges for Certification or Validation of Information Assurance Products

Summary

The Director can charge fees to evaluate, certify, or validate information assurance products under the National Information Assurance Program or a successor program. The fees must be set through a public rulemaking process under Office of Management and Budget Circular No. A–25 and cannot be higher than the program’s direct costs. The agency or fund that pays may be reimbursed or may be asked to pay in advance, with any agreed adjustments made after the work is done. Money collected must be returned to the account(s) that paid for the program to cover those direct costs.
