Title 50 › Chapter 50— SERVICEMEMBERS CIVIL RELIEF › Subchapter II— GENERAL RELIEF › § 3934
A court must pause or cancel enforcement of a judgment if a judge finds that a service member’s military duty makes it hard for them to comply. The court can do this on its own, and it must do it if the service member asks. The court can pause the judgment and stop or undo seizures of property, money, or debts that belong to the service member or are held by someone else. These protections apply to lawsuits started before or while the person is in military service and for 90 days after their service ends.
