Title 50 › Chapter 51— WAR CLAIMS › Subchapter II— TITLE II OF WAR CLAIMS ACT OF 1948 › § 4134
A claim for loss, damage, or destruction will not be allowed unless the property was owned by a U.S. national on the date it was lost, damaged, or destroyed, and the claim stayed owned by a U.S. national continuously until it was filed with the Commission under these rules. If someone lost U.S. citizenship only because they married a foreign citizen but got their citizenship back before October 22, 1962, and if without that marriage they would have been a U.S. national from the date of loss through the filing date, they are treated as having been a U.S. national for that whole time.
