Title 50 › Chapter 52— RESTITUTION FOR WORLD WAR II INTERNMENT OF JAPANESE-AMERICANS AND ALEUTS › Subchapter I— UNITED STATES CITIZENS OF JAPANESE ANCESTRY AND RESIDENT JAPANESE ALIENS › § 4213
Each department and agency must generously review applications from eligible people who lost a job, status, or benefit because the United States discriminated against them for being of Japanese ancestry during the evacuation, relocation, and internment period. Agencies must consider the Commission’s findings and Congress’s statement in section 4202(a). That review does not give agencies the power to award restitution or make anyone eligible to apply.
