Title 50 › Chapter 58— EXPORT CONTROL REFORM › Subchapter III— ADMINISTRATIVE AUTHORITIES › § 4851
The President must appoint an Under Secretary of Commerce for Industry and Security, with Senate approval. That person must perform all duties under this chapter and all duties that belonged to the Under Secretary of Commerce for Export Administration on the day before the Act was enacted. As of August 13, 2018, any law or rule that names the Export Administration Under Secretary is treated as naming the Industry and Security Under Secretary. The person who held the Export Administration job the day before August 13, 2018 may keep serving in the Industry and Security post without being re‑nominated or reappointed.
