§40905 Program to Expand Distance Learning in Rural Underserved Areas

Summary

The Administrator must create or expand programs to bring science and space education to rural communities and schools using video conferencing, hands-on exhibits, teacher training, classroom presentations, and student field trips. The Administrator must give priority to existing programs like Challenger Learning Centers that use community partnerships, keep and use video and exhibit equipment, travel to rural and low-income areas, and focus on increasing the number of women and minorities in science and engineering.
