The chapter gives meanings for words used about commercial space projects. 50501 definitions also apply. Commercial space transportation infrastructure development means building, improving, designing, or engineering U.S. space transportation facilities and doing technical studies to plan new or better facilities. Project means one or more linked development efforts, including all work at a site in a fiscal year. Project grant means money the Secretary of Transportation gives a sponsor for projects. Public agency means a State, a State agency, a local government, or a tax-supported organization. Sponsor means a public agency that applies alone or with others for a project grant.
