The Secretary of Transportation must, within 90 days after enactment, create a centralized policy office in the Office of Commercial Space Transportation called the Office of Spaceports. The office must support licensing, push for infrastructure and policy improvements, provide technical help and guidance, promote U.S. spaceports within the Department, and strengthen the Nation’s competitiveness and resilience in commercial space transportation for the Federal Government and commercial customers. The Secretary must recognize differences between orbital and suborbital spaceports. The head of the Associate Administrator’s office must name a Director. "Spaceport" means a launch or reentry site run by an entity licensed by the Secretary of Transportation.
