§20103 Selection of Registration Facilities

Summary
States or local governments that handle voter sign-ups for federal elections must maintain enough permanent, easy-to-reach places where people can register to vote. If a state already lets every potential voter register by mail or register from their home, it does not have to keep those permanent places.

(a)Each State or political subdivision responsible for registration for Federal elections shall provide a reasonable number of accessible permanent registration facilities.
(b)Subsection (a) does not apply to any State that has in effect a system that provides an opportunity for each potential voter to register by mail or at the residence of such voter.
