Title 52 › Subtitle Subtitle II— Voting Assistance and Election Administration › Chapter 203— REGISTRATION AND VOTING BY ABSENT UNIFORMED SERVICES VOTERS AND OVERSEAS VOTERS IN ELECTIONS FOR FEDERAL OFFICE › § 20305
The President’s appointee must create online information pages and set up a notice program to help absent uniformed services voters with voter registration and absentee ballot steps for Federal elections. They must tell those voters about the Federal Post Card Application and the Federal Write‑In Absentee Ballot, and use the military Global Network to send notices 90, 60, and 30 days before each Federal election. The appointee still must follow Department of Defense rules that do not conflict, including DoD Directive 1000.04. Congress may provide whatever money is needed to the Federal Voting Assistance Program in the Department of Defense (or its successor) to carry out this work.
