§100502 General Management Plans

Summary

The Director must prepare and update a general management plan for each park unit, including those in the national capital area, in a timely way. Every January 1, the Secretary must send Congress a list showing the status of each plan. Each plan must explain how the park’s resources will be protected; what kinds and how much development and visitor access will be allowed (including routes, transport, rough locations, timing, and estimated costs); the visitor capacity limits for all areas and commitments to follow them; and any possible changes to the unit’s boundaries with reasons.
