Title 54 › Subtitle Subtitle I— National Park System › Chapter 1011— DONATIONS › Subchapter II— NATIONAL PARK FOUNDATION › § 101113
Allows the National Park Foundation to take and manage gifts, bequests, or property—either outright or held in trust—and any income or other interest from them to help or work with the Service. The Foundation must talk with the Director to make sure gifts match Service programs. It can accept gifts even if others have rights or limits on them, as long as some current or future part helps the Service. It cannot accept a gift that would require spending money beyond the Foundation’s own resources. An interest in real property means things like easements or other rights to preserve, protect, conserve, or improve natural, scenic, historic, scientific, educational, inspirational, or recreational resources.
