Summary

Money for building, repairing, or improving housing must follow the Secretary’s housing priority list from section 101339, and be used in that order as much as possible. Each year, the President’s budget sent to Congress must show what nonconstruction money, beyond rent collected, will pay for Service housing maintenance and operations.

(a)Expenditure of any funds authorized and appropriated for new construction, repair, or rehabilitation of housing under this chapter shall follow the housing priority listing established by the Secretary under section 101339 of this title, in sequential order, to the maximum extent practicable.

(b)Each fiscal year the President’s proposed budget to Congress shall include identification of nonconstruction funds to be spent for Service housing maintenance and operations that are in addition to rental receipts collected.
