§308501 National Women’s Rights History Project National Registry

Summary

The Secretary may give yearly grants to State historic preservation offices for up to 5 years. The money is to help find, study, and nominate places important to women’s rights for the National Register. Priority goes to sites tied to many parts of the movement, like politics, economics, education, religion, and social and family life. The Secretary must update the National Register travel website "Places Where Women Made History" with the inventory results and related links. The federal share of costs is 50 percent. Up to $1,000,000 may be appropriated for each of fiscal years 2012 and 2013.
