The Secretary must make sure agencies share timely, useful information about inspections of items brought into the United States. The Secretary must work with the Secretary of Agriculture, the Secretary of Health and Human Services, and any other agency heads the Secretary chooses to make the sharing efficient. An "affected agency" means the Department, the Department of Agriculture, the Department of Health and Human Services, and any other department or agency the Secretary picks. No later than 18 months after November 25, 2002, the Secretary must send Congress a report on progress and a plan to finish putting this information-sharing in place.
