Title 6 › Chapter 1— HOMELAND SECURITY ORGANIZATION › Subchapter XVII— ANTI-TRAFFICKING TRAINING FOR DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY PERSONNEL › § 642
Within 180 days after May 29, 2015, the Secretary must start a program to train and retrain relevant Transportation Security Administration, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and other Department staff the Secretary chooses. The training must teach staff how to deter, find, and stop human trafficking during their normal work and must include regular updates when new information becomes available, following information and privacy laws. Training can be in class or online and must cover how to spot victims and possible traffickers, how to approach victims safely without alerting a trafficker, location‑specific procedures, other needed topics, and a post‑training check. The Secretary must review the program each year to keep it up to date with current techniques, patterns, and trends in human trafficking.
