The Administrator must make sure every Agency program that gives federal disaster relief puts in and keeps internal controls to stop and find fraud, waste, and abuse. Application systems must record payments, be tied to payment records, and be set up to spot ineligible claims. The Agency’s Inspector General must review each database or application system to confirm those controls exist and are being used.
